🍕 PIZZERIA OF THE WEEK: MADISON AVENUE PIZZA
Madison Avenue Pizza in Dunedin just won our Pizza Crawl – Pinellas Tour, and its old-school New York pizza made a strong impression on the group.

There’s a family story behind the shop. Owner Sean Ferraro started washing dishes and rolling dough balls at a Largo pizzeria when he was 14. He later worked in restaurants and South Florida hotels, but wanted to return to the Tampa Bay area. Sean and his wife, Jackie, made the move back to build Madison Avenue Pizza around the Italian family meals he grew up with and a kitchen that makes much of its food from scratch.

For our crawl, we sampled their New York-style pizza made with a 96-hour dough. It had the crispness and flavor I look for in this style, and it came out on top when the group’s results were tallied. Winning a four-stop crawl with four different pizza styles at some of the best pizzerias in the region is no small feat.

Madison Avenue also has a playful side. They make a 32-inch pizza, run creative weekly specials, and have even delivered pizza to nearby islands by boat aboard the Pizza Skiff. Their menu extends well beyond the classic New York pie, including a slow-risen Sicilian that I tried recently.

That combination of family history, care in the kitchen, and a pizza that won over our crawl group makes Madison Avenue Pizza our Pizzeria of the Week.
